Title: PLC/HMI Programmers

Description:

PPM is a fast growing company providing project management and project engineering services to the industrial, resource and infrastructure sectors across Australia, with offices in Perth, Wollongong and Sydney. 

PPM has an immediate need for multiple PLC/HMI programmers to accelerate an in-execution software upgrade project.

The successful candidates will be working within a small software project execution team to Define, Program and Validate PLC/HMI software in two operating iron ore beneficiation plants. Tasks include:

  • Review of existing device level PLC/HMI code. Identify existing functionality, check for appropriateness, compare against OEM manuals, and identify how to provide equivalent functionality using new standardised code.
  • Assistance in detailing of functional definitions for higher level control functions for robust macro sequences and regulation loops.
  • PLC/HMI online programming, testing and verification.
  • Document final code.

The roles needs people with proven site based PLC/HMI programming skills. Ability to efficiently program and test code with careful attention to detail in an operating process plant environment. 

The Project:

The project is based at an Iron Ore Processing Facility in the Pilbara region, with attractive FIFO arrangements in place. The roster is likely to be an 8/6 roster with some Perth based work.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years experience in all areas listed above is required, with a preference of a Perth home base. 

Hands-on experience on the following PCS platforms will be a significant advantage:

  • PLC (GE RX3i, RX7i). UDFB, ST, SFC and FB [array based programming].
  • Communications (Profibus, Ethernet, DeviceNet)
  • SCADA (CIMPLICITY, VBA, Object orientation, Class Object design, Excel)

Title: Shutdown Coordinators

Description:

PPM is a fast growing company providing project management and project engineering services to the industrial, resource and infrastructure sectors across Australia, with offices in Perth, Wollongong and Sydney. 

PPM has an immediate need for 2 Shutdown Coordinators, with experience in heavy industrial projects in processing plants.

The Role:

The successful candidates will be working within a project team to perform the following functions:

Planning

  • Assist in setting and approval of shutdown objectives, scope of work and scheduling of all related tasks 
  • Facilitate Critical Risk Assessment Workshops (CRAW)
  • From experience, build in measurable contingency plans
  • Assist in ensuring that the work scope is fully resourced in manpower, equipment and materials
  • Identify in advance any engineering or modification work required during the shutdown period
  • Assist in setting clear performance measurement standards against all aspects of the shutdown 

Execution

  • Oversee the ramp-down process and ensuring lock boxes, cleaning and machine placement is correct as per the plan
  • Document and escalate issues with potential to impact the duration of the shutdown or the safety of the people involved.
  • Communicate with all key stakeholders to ensure all jobs (in particular critical path jobs) are on track
  • Ensure all project plan activities have their status accurately updated
  • Facilitate daily shutdown meetings and oversee execution contractors shutdown supervision and coordination
  • Contribute to ensuring that a robust HSE plan is in place and all high risk task are identified, sub-contractors correctly inducted and procedures are adhered to.
  • Liaise closely with the Shutdown Manager to ensure all core manpower and engineering resources are available against plan 
  • Liaise closely with the Shutdown Manager to ensure all sub-contractors personnel, materials, plant, equipment, vendors, special tools and consumables are correctly resourced and available for the shutdown 
  • Input into reporting systems for daily progress versus plan, issues and scope growth
  • Oversee the ramp-up process ensuring equipment hand-back check sheets are completed by the Job Owner and plant re-commissioning occurs on schedule.

Reporting and Review

  • Input into detailed completion report to be produced at the end of each shutdown 
  • Ensure all activities are logged accurately in the SAP system
  • In liaison with the Materials Controller ensure that critical parts and routine and consumable maintenance spares, are held in the materials management system with minimum and maximum holdings identified 

The Project:

The project is based in the Pilbara region, with attractive FIFO arrangements in place. The roster is likely to be an 8/6 roster with some Perth based work.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years' experience in construction and shutdown management is required. Preference will be given to those with an engineering or trade qualification, who are located in the Perth region.

Title: Project Controls Superintendent

Description:

PPM is a fast growing company providing project management and project engineering services to the industrial, resource and infrastructure sectors across Australia, with offices in Perth, Wollongong and Sydney. 

PPM has an immediate need for a Project Controls Superintendent, preferably with experience in heavy industrial projects in processing plants.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be working within a project team to Plan, Integrate and Schedule all aspects of:

  • Planning and scheduling for projects and shutdowns across various phases, ranging from preliminary scope planning, through to detailed resource driven design, procurement and construction planning
  • Development of master integrated project schedules
  • Integrated schedule (cost/time) risk analysis
  • Development of project performance metrics and reporting templates; and
  • Ongoing programme maintenance and status reporting 

The role also includes the Contract Administration and Cost Control, of all aspects of:

  • Planning and coordination of procurement processes
  • Development of cost estimates, resource driven schedules
  • Project CAPEX/OPEX cashflows; and
  • Ongoing cost analysis, cost control and reporting, including using techniques such as earned value

The Project:

The project is based in the Pilbara region, with attractive FIFO arrangements in place. The roster is likely to be an 8/6 roster with some Perth based work.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years' experience in all areas listed above is required, with SAP experience essential. A preference will be given to those residing in Perth.
